Gooogle Calendar edit event form

Title

This field is used to provide the name or summary of the event. It is a short, descriptive label that appears on the calendar to help identify the event at a glance. The title should be concise yet informative enough to give an immediate understanding of the event's purpose.

  • Use keywords that clearly convey the nature of the event.


Event date

This field specifies the date on which the event will take place. It's possible to set the date and time but also you can create an "All day" event. Additionally, you can make it recurring.

All day event

These are special kind of events that don't have start and end time. Due to that, the start time is considered 00:00 and end time is considered as 23:59:59.

Recurring event

If your event repeats on regular basis, you can make it recurring. This way you do not have to re-create the event for the next occurrence.

You can choose predefined configuration from the list:

If you are looking for more defined recurrence settings, choose custom option, it will reveal an advanced recurring settings form:

With this options you can set:

  • How often it repeats,

  • What week days it happens,

  • When it ends:

    • Never - it will repeat infinitely,

    • On date: on what date the last recurrence will take place,

    • After: after how many recurrences it will stop.

Usage Tips

  • Show recurrence series of the recurring event in the event details. Use option in Design -> Events -> Event details -> Show recurrence series

Location

This field specifies the physical or virtual place where the event will occur.The location can be an address, a room number, or a link to a virtual meeting.

Usage tips

  • Addresses will be linked to Google Maps for navigation purposes. You can turn off that option in Revisual: Design -> Events -> Event details -> Link location to Google Maps.

Google Maps location

You can specify Google Maps location. To do so, type the address of the location or it's name. Then select the right Google Maps location from the dropdown:

This will make Revisual to pull Google Maps location information, such as it's name and photos.


Calendar

This field determines which calendar the event will be added to. This is one of your GCal account calendars that you can manage separately. It helps you organize events into groups. You can create GCal calendars for any kind of activity, e.g. Movies, Events, Festivals. Then assign the event to the right calendar.

Usage Tips

  • Each GCal calendar has it's own color. Display the color coding or other identifying markers for each calendar to help users quickly recognise them.

  • You can use GCal calendar colors as accent color in Revisual.

Event color

In addition to GCal calendar color, you can set event color. It will override the GCal calendar color and will be used as an accent color in Revisual.


Event description

This field allows users to provide detailed information about the event. It can include text, links, and other relevant details to give attendees a comprehensive understanding of what to expect. Notably, links to YouTube and Vimeo videos will automatically turn into embedded players, enhancing the event's presentation.

Links as Call To Action (CTA) buttons

First and last link in the event description can be turned into Call To Action (CTA) button in Design -> Call to actions settings. You can show CTA on the event card or in the event description:

When adding links to work as Call To Action (CTA) buttons to an event description that has Youtube or Vimeo links, be consequent in the order of adding links. CTA can be set as first or last link in the description. If use "first link" option and use video link as first link then that link will turn into CTA button.

Usage Tips

  • Write an informative and engaging event description.

  • Use links to videos to enrich the content.

  • Add links to use them as Call To Action buttons.


Cover Image / Attachment

his field allows users to attach files to the event, with the first attachment typically used as the event's cover image. The attachment should be in 16:9 proportions for optimal display. It's recommended to minimize the image size to ensure fast loading, especially for mobile users. Additionally, the file should be shared with the Revisual account email and set with shared access visible to anyone.

Best Practices:

  • Aspect Ratio: Ensure the image has a 16:9 aspect ratio (e.g., 1600x900 pixels).

    File Size: Optimize the image size (e.g., compress without significant loss of quality) to enhance loading speed. You can use TinyPNG tool for free to compress your JPEG and PNG files.

  • Sharing Settings: Share the file with the Revisual account email address: [email protected] and set permissions to allow anyone with the link to view it.

  • File Types: Use common image formats like JPEG or PNG for compatibility across platforms.
