Welcome to the Mailchimp email template builder

STEP 1: Integrate with Revisual

If you have already integrated with Revisual, move on to Step 2.

If you have not already done so, you need to give Revisual access to your Google Calendar(s).

STEP 2: Create a New Calendar

Navigate to your calendars and create a new one. We recommend choosing the weekly view template for the best results.

STEP 3: Set Up your Calendar

Set the basic options and design, including the number of events to display.

STEP 4: Publish and Install the Template

4a. Click the Install tab.

4b. Make sure the Publish button is toggled on -- it will turn purple.

4c. Choose the Mailchimp option for template customization.

4d. Then click Next.

STEP 5: Select Display Options

5a. Select the Preview tab. This is where you can customize your Mailchimp email (if needed) and see what the email will look like.

5b. On the right-hand side of the Preview tab, you will find your customization options. Here is what they look like:

NOTE: Method to show events

There are two options: Static (one-time) and Evergreen (recurring).

Both options start with your calendar defaults. Depending on the option you choose, you will be presented with more event control possibilities to further filter the events your people will see.

Why choose one option or the other?

Option 1: Static (one-time)
This option will produce the same newsletter each time. Use cases: one-time or non-repeating events or event series such as Winter Concert, Easter program, 6-week Bible Study. The static is especially great for showing future events. You can show all the events for the year by added a few different embeds perhaps or at least show future events.

Option 2: Evergreen (recurring)
This option will produce an updated newsletter each time. Use cases: what's happening this week, featured events this month, kids at church.

STEP 6: Copy HTML Code

Click on the Copy template button to copy the HTML code provided for the template. You will paste this code into Mailchimp.

NOTE: At the moment, your email template settings are not saved. We plan to improve this in the future. So, when you click Finish, they will be erased.

STEP 7: In Mailchimp, customize as needed

7a. Paste the copied Revisual HTML code into your Mailchimp email template.

7b. Adjust the template settings, including titles, dates, colors, and display preferences.

Please note:

STEP 8: Preview and Test

Use the preview function to check how the email will appear, and send yourself a test email to confirm everything works.
