Let's talk about working with events filtering in calendars and event alerts.

The most important part of the logic to understand is the idea of 'nesting'.

Nesting is the idea that a larger container can hold smaller containers.

A bird's nest holds the eggs.

Each egg holds the chick to be.

Some toys nest also, like these dolls. The blue doll holds the green one. The red dolls holds the smallest two, and the black doll holds all of them.

Your Revisual SETUP TAB filtering works on the same 'nested' logic.

Below is what your filtering options look like.

Calendars

For calendar events, you can choose to show events with images only. You can also merge recurring events so they display only once with a schedule of dates and times.

You also need to tell Revisual from which calendar(s) to pull in data. More on that below.

If you want to call attention to events, make them featured events. When you toggle this option on, all the events from the chosen calendar(s) will have a 'featured' badge.

LET'S BEGIN...

You will use the following connectors to do this:

  • and

  • or

  • is

  • is not

You need to tell Revisual from which Google Calendar to pull in the data.

You choose whether you want to include or exclude a calendar.

We have chosen to pull in data from our Holidays in the US calendar.

We could leave it there...

or...

We could add another calendar.

Now, we have told Revisual to pull in data from two calendars: Holidays in the US AND Lisa A.

We can also use the 'is not' option.

In this example, we have excluded the calendar Special Events and included the calendar Lisa A.

Here, no events from either calendar will be displayed.

And the nesting can go on and on...
