Show events from Google Calendar, or Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendars, on your WordPress site with the free Revisual plugin. You connect your calendar and design your calendar widgets in Revisual. The plugin puts them on your WordPress pages.
Before you start: you need WordPress 6.4 or later, PHP 7.2 or later, and permission to install plugins.
Step 1: Install and activate the plugin
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins › Add Plugin and search for Revisual. Click Install Now, then Activate.
Once it's active, Revisual appears in the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Connect your site to Revisual
Using a caching plugin, such as LiteSpeed Cache? It can block the connection. Before you start, exclude Revisual from it, or turn it off until the connection is done.
Click Revisual in the left-hand menu. Click Log in if you have a Revisual account, or Create free account if you don't.
Revisual shows the site you're connecting and the Revisual account it will connect to. Check both, then click Link with Revisual.
You're taken back to WordPress, and the Revisual page shows Connected. Your site is also added to the Websites list in Revisual automatically. If you turned off a caching plugin, you can turn it back on now.
Step 3: Add a calendar to a page
Open a page or post in the block editor. Type /revisual and choose the Revisual block. You can also find it with the + button.
The block lists your published calendars. Search, filter by template, or sort by Recent or A–Z, then click the calendar you want.
The calendar appears in the editor straight away. To show a different calendar, click Insert next to it in the block's sidebar. Click Publish or Update to save the page.
Calendar missing from the list? Only published calendars appear. Publish it in Revisual, then click the refresh button (↻) in the block. Don't have one yet? Click Create calendar, or see how to create a calendar widget.
Using Elementor, Divi or the classic editor? Use a shortcode
A shortcode works in any editor or page builder.
Step 1: In WordPress, go to Revisual › Calendars. Click the copy button next to the calendar's shortcode.
The shortcode looks like this: [revisual type="calendar" id="…" template="card_view"]
Step 2: Paste it where you want the calendar: a Shortcode block in the block editor, the Shortcode widget in Elementor, or straight into the classic editor.
Page builders don't show the calendar inside their editor. Preview the page, or open the live page, to see it.
Event alerts
You don't add event alerts to a page. Once your site is connected, the plugin shows them automatically on the pages you choose for each alert in Revisual.
Calendar not showing?
Is the calendar still published? If it was unpublished after you added it, a notice shows in its place. Check its status in Revisual.
Is the site still connected? Click Revisual in the left-hand menu and check it says Connected. If it doesn't, exclude Revisual from your caching plugin or turn it off, and connect again.
Using a caching or optimisation plugin? The Revisual plugin has its own caching. If the calendar doesn't show or doesn't update, exclude Revisual from your caching or optimisation plugin, then clear its cache.
Event changes not showing yet? See how syncing works.
Can't install plugins?
Some hosts don't allow plugins. You can still add your calendar with the embed code. Follow the Standard install and paste the code into a Custom HTML block.
