How to show Google Meet and Microsoft Teams links in your events

Show a Join meeting button for Google Meet and Microsoft Teams events on your website, turn it off per widget and change its colours.

Written by Piotr Poźniak

When an event in your calendar has an online meeting attached, Revisual shows it in a dedicated Online meeting box in the event details. Attendees can join with one click or copy the link, without searching the event description for it.

Supported providers

  • Google Meet: for events from Google Calendar

  • Microsoft Teams: for events from Outlook Calendar

The feature is on by default and available on all plans.

⚠️ Meeting links are public. Anyone who can see your widget can see and use the meeting link. Use this feature for public meetings, or for calendars that are only shared internally. If a calendar contains private meetings and is embedded on a public website, turn the feature off for that widget (see below).

How it works

  1. In Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar, create or edit an event and add a meeting as usual: Add Google Meet video conferencing in Google Calendar, or Teams meeting in Outlook.

  2. Save the event. Revisual syncs the change automatically.

  3. Open the event in your Revisual widget. The Online meeting box appears in the event details and shows:

    • the provider name (Google Meet or Microsoft Teams)

    • the meeting link

    • a copy link button

    • a Join meeting button

You don't need to change anything in Revisual. If the event has a meeting attached, the box appears.

Turn the online meeting box on or off

The setting is per widget, so you can show meeting links on one widget and hide them on another.

  1. Open your widget and go to the Design tab.

  2. Expand Events.

  3. Switch Show online meeting link on or off.

  4. Save your widget.

When the setting is off, the Online meeting box is removed completely from the event details.

Customise how the box looks

  1. Open your widget and go to the Design tab.

  2. Expand Events listing/Details colors.

  3. Scroll to the Online meeting section.

  4. For each element, choose Custom to set your own colours, or leave Default:

    • Area: the background of the box

    • Provider name

    • Link

    • Copy link button

    • Copy link icon

    • Join meeting button

    • Join meeting button label

  5. Save your widget.

FAQ

Do I need to do anything to enable online meeting links?

No. The feature is on by default. Any event with Google Meet (Google Calendar) or Microsoft Teams (Outlook Calendar) attached shows the Online meeting box automatically.

Who can see the meeting link?

Anyone who can view your widget. If your widget is embedded on a public website, the link is public. Only use it for meetings you're happy to share openly, or turn it off for that widget.

Does it work with Zoom, Webex or other providers?

Not at the moment. The box shows the native conferencing for each calendar: Google Meet for Google Calendar and Microsoft Teams for Outlook Calendar. Links for other providers can still be added to the event description.

Where does the Online meeting box appear?

In the event details modal of your widget. It isn't shown on hosted event pages or in ICS/iCal subscription feeds.

What happens when I turn the setting off?

The Online meeting box is removed from the event details. Anything you've written in the event description or location is unaffected.

Is this available on my plan?

Yes, it's available on all plans, including the free plan.
