When you connect a work or school Microsoft 365 calendar, Microsoft may stop you with Need admin approval. Your organisation only lets IT admins approve new apps. An admin approves Revisual once, and then you, and anyone else in your organisation, can connect.
Personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live) never need admin approval.
What Revisual asks for
Revisual only reads. It never changes, adds or deletes anything in your calendar. On Microsoft's screen, the app is Revisual.io, published by Kathodon LTD, a publisher verified by Microsoft. It asks to:
Read your profile: to show your name on the connection.
Read your calendars: to read the events from the calendars you choose.
Maintain access to data you have given Revisual.io access to: so your events keep syncing when you're not signed in. It doesn't add any permissions.
Revisual only syncs the calendars you tick in Revisual. Everything else on the account stays private.
If Microsoft lets you request approval
Some organisations show Approval required with a box for a reason. Write why you need Revisual, for example "To show our public events calendar on our website", and click Request approval.
Your admin gets the request. When they approve it, Microsoft emails you. Then connect again from Revisual.
If you can't request approval
Send your IT admin a message like this one:
Hi, I'd like to connect our Outlook calendar to Revisual to show our events on our website. Microsoft says it needs admin approval. The app is Revisual.io by Kathodon LTD (verified publisher). It only reads profile and calendar data. How to approve it: https://help.revisual.io/en/articles/18242516
For IT admins: how to approve Revisual
You need one of these roles in Microsoft Entra: Global Administrator, Privileged Role Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator or Application Administrator. Choose one of the three ways below.
Approve a request
If a colleague requested approval:
Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
Go to Entra ID › Enterprise apps › Admin consent requests, and open the My Pending tab.
Select Revisual.io, click Review permissions and consent, check the permissions and click Accept.
Grant consent in Enterprise apps
Revisual.io shows in your tenant once someone in your organisation has tried to connect.
In the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to Entra ID › Enterprise apps › All applications.
Search for Revisual.io and open it.
Under Security, select Permissions, then click Grant admin consent. Check the permissions and click Accept.
Approve while connecting
An admin with the Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator role can approve Revisual for everyone while connecting their own calendar:
In Revisual, go to Integrations › Connect Outlook Calendar™ and click Sign in with Microsoft.
On Microsoft's screen, tick Consent on behalf of your organization and click Accept.
This also connects the admin's own calendars. If you don't need that connection, remove it in Revisual. The approval for your organisation stays.
After approval
Connect again from Revisual. Microsoft no longer asks for admin approval. See How to connect your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar to your website.
To remove Revisual's access later, see Remove Revisual's access in the same article.
